Weekly Roundup

A weekly roundup dedicated to half term and Halloween as keeping the children occupied took up 99% of my brain power and I missed last weekend.

Crafting. So many sweet ghost crafts, I love using cotton wool to make a fluffy ghost or paint some leaves white, draw on eyes and make a ghostly garland. We decorated masks. Plenty more ideas here.

National Trust. We’ve been to two, one with a pumpkin trail and one with a skeleton trail. No half term is complete without at least one trip.

Pick your own pumpkin. There are so many ways to carve and paint them. Then use the inside to make pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie.

Halloween baking. We baked simple sugar cookies and iced them with lots of unappatising but spooky looking colours, smarties, marshmallows and sprinkles. You can buy ready made boxes for ease but we made and decorated simple cupcakes the following day to use up the left overs. You could even do cocktails for the adults too.

Costumes. This is the week to go shopping. There are some lovely slightly more subtle halloween outfits from here. Also these are beautiful. Then there are the more traditional costumes, I love this range.
