It’s the last weekend of January and I have to say that this last week has not been easy. I’ve been feeling awful so this weekly roundup is dedicated to all things comforting.
When you’re feeing really poorly I sometimes find the only thing I can do is listen to a podcast. There are so many great ones but for true comfort I like to re-listen to The High Low or maybe How to Fail by Elizabeth Day. Table Manners by Jessie Ware is also great if you can cope with the food chat.
Once you’re feeling a bit better and you can read again the best comfort reads are always Mapp and Lucia, Pride and Prejudice or Emma, Just William or something like the Diary of a Provincial Lady.
Comfort viewing is always Schitt’s Creek or The Vicar of Dibley with maybe an old Motherland or the new series of Selling Sunset added in for variety.
Once well enough to eat again I find the most comforting food is Italian, in particular a Lasagne, this recipe looks lovely, although let’s face it a pre-made supermarket variety is also perfect when you’ve been unwell.
Once you’re out of bed a jumper like this with black leggings, a pair of cosy socks and a great blanket are all perfect to wrap yourself up in for the days it takes to get back on your feet.
