I’ve loved Winifred Nicholson’s work for a while now, particularly her use of plants and colour, but I hadn’t seen the portraits of her children in party hats she’d painted while she was living on the Isle of Wight. I’ve just read this article by her grandson which gives a great summery of her life and work.
